The Timmins Family Counselling Centre offers confidential and bilingual counselling solutions to individuals, couples, families and various workplaces. These services are offered to clients aged 12 years and older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.


The goal of counselling is to help you make sense of life's daily challenges or more unique struggles.

Enhanced Counselling Program *

This program offers 5-8 individual sessions to men and women aged 18 years and over who want to learn to live without violence and learn to express their anger in an appropriate manner. 

All clients must call to register in advance and attend a scheduled individual assessment prior to starting the program. 

Critical Incident Stress Management

Critical Incident Stress Management is designed to minimize the impact of stress following a traumatic event.

Partner Assault Response Program (PAR)

The PAR program offers 12 weekly group sessions of 2 hours to men aged 18 years and over who have been violent or abusive towards their intimate partner. This is not an anger management program. 

This program also provides support and outreach to the victim(s) who are previous &/or current intimate partners. Help creating a safety plan may be offered to the victims as well as information on the PAR program and on community services available to them. 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program assists employees and families of various organizations and businesses in Timmins and its surrounding areas. Please see your HR department for more information regarding who your EAP provider is.

Family Violence Healing

This individual therapy is designed to assist women aged 16 years and over healing from abusive relationships &/or experiences. (i.e.: psychological or verbal, physical, emotional, financial or exploitation, spiritual from an intimate partner.)

Sexual Assault Survivors

This is a service to help support men and women who are healing from past or current sexual abuse. This program offers individual therapy as well as a support group for men.


Male Victims of Sexual Assault *

This program is designed to support men who are or who have been victims of sexual assault. Individual therapy is available as well as in a group setting.
