An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports and assists employees and their immediate family members in assessing and resolving work, health and life issues.

The TFCC is a local provider of comprehensive and fee for service Employee Assistance Programs available for employers to provide to their employees.

We support individuals, families and organizations to address personal or work-related issues that may impact performance and productivity in the workplace.

Benefits of our Employee Assistance Programs include: reduced feelings of stress, improved communication skills, enhanced mental and physical health, improved relationships, reduced absenteeism and "on the job" accidents, improved employee morale and employee/employer relations by encouraging and supporting a mentally healthy workplace.

Sometimes concerns about marriage, children, health, tension, stress, and other problems result in poor performance both on and off the job. Signs of distress are not always obvious.

Some distress signals to look for are:

  • unmanagable anger, hostility or violence
  • changes in your job or spouse's job
  • persistent feelings of dissatisfaction with your relationship or family life
  • problems with a child's behaviour, school adjustment, or performance
  • unexplainable fatigue
  • difficulties in talking with your partner, children, parents, other family members, friends or co-workers
  • feelings of loneliness, moodiness, depression, fatigue, anxiety
  • need for sedatives, energizers or sleeping aids
  • family stress due to illness
  • grief with the loss of a loved one
  • difficulty in setting or reaching goals
  • drastic weight fluctuations or irregular eating patterns
  • work difficulties, frequent job changes, problems with co-workers, bullying
  • absenteeism from work
